Park Slope Dermatology & Medi SpaExcel V is a quick, non-invasive dual laser requiring no anesthesia and minimal downtime. It has a 532 nm pulse dye laser that targets blood vessels closer to the skin in people with lighter pigmentation, and a 1064 nm Nd: YAG laser that targets deep blood vessels. In other words, it is designed to target abnormal blood vessels and pigmented skin lesions. The most common treatments include rosacea, venous lake, red spots, brown spots, facial and leg veins, spider veins, sun spots, acne scars, and stretch marks. It can even be used for wart removal. In other words, Excel V can do it all.
The Excel V has a cooling system which serves to minimize discomfort and protects the skin simultaneously. Most patients experience minimal stinging and consider it to be tolerable. All treatments are done by our dermatologist, Dr. Holder. Upon initial consultation, Dr. Holder will evaluate your specific condition and recommend the number of treatments necessary.
A big THANK YOU to Dr. Holder and her team for my procedure yesterday! As a 55yo fair-skinned woman, I came to Dr. Holder yesterday for red vein removal on my chin. I’ve noticed that as I age, I need to use heavier foundation on my chin due to fine red lines that give my skin a reddish appearance. I had previously gone to Dr. Holder twice for chemical peels which were, both times, a great experience (she explains every step and does several things to help comfort you throughout each procedure). Because the peels really enhanced the appearance of my skin, I asked her about the veins in my chin and finally made an appt to get them removed. The treatment she used was a laser procedure called Excel V and, just like with the chemical peels, she explained everything she was doing and what I could expect when the treatment was over. The actual procedure only took about 15 minutes and before I knew it, I was checking out and being given the follow-up care (which Dr. Holder is very passionate about and her staff will take the time to answer all of your questions). Today (the day after) my chin looks AMAZING, soft and vein-free! Aside from being thorough and incredibly knowledgeable, Dr. Holder and her team give you such personal treatment you’ll feel like you’re part of a family. If you’re wanting to remove veins on your face or legs (like varicose veins), I highly recommend this procedure. Esp. if you’re a guy who can’t cover up facial veins with foundation 🙂
